Larry Dale Mathis

Larry Dale Mathis, of Lake City, formerly of Covington, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at Lake City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was 75 years of age. Born in Jefferson, GA to the late John and Calvania Collins Mathis, Larry was also preceded in death by his siblings, Clinton Mathis, Herman Mathis, Bobby Mathis, David Mathis and Ruth Mitchell. His hobbies included fishing camping, working on cars, and listening to Gospel music. He loved working outdoors. Larry was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and enjoyed the Sunshine Group activities. Larry’s memory will be cherished by his siblings, Jesse Mathis of Covington, O’Neal (Elaine) Mathis of North Port, AL, Carolyn (Augie) Horn of Snellville, Joyce (Larry) Hill of Covington, Patsy (Robbie) Autry of Covington, Janice (Mike) Harrison, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Canaan Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Ingram officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Missions Department at Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, Covington, GA 30016.
