William Herbert Phelps Sr.

William Herbert Phelps Sr. 75, of Covington, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his home surrounds by his loving family. Herbert was born in Social Circle, GA to the late Hampton and Leona Phelps. Herbert is also preceded in death by his daughter; April Jo Phelps, his 10 siblings; Mary, Bo, Helen, Gerald, Gene, Thomas, Marshall, Ronnie, Darrell, Hilda. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Edith Phelps, sons; Lee Phelps (Rose) and Bill Phelps Jr. , daughter; Elizabeth Phelps, Stepchildren; Bill Mitchell (Amanda), Carolyn George (Tony), Carl Mitchell (Lynn), Mark Mitchell (Bobbie), 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sister; Pat Hegwood (Doug) , Brother; Joe Phelps and Many Nieces and Nephews. Herbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to those he met. He enjoyed doing anything out doors, camping, fishing, traveling to the mountains, and trips to Las Vegas and taking cruises, and an avid Nascar fan. He will truly be missed. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 4pm at Wheeler Funeral Home 11405 Brown Bridge Rd Covington, Ga. with Pastor Stan Patterson officiating.
