He was born in Porterdale, Georgia to the late Luke Kent. He was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Kent. Walker enjoyed watching the older TV shows like, The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Big Valley, Mash, etc. He loved to go fishing, hunting, and being a truck driver. Walker served in the U.S. Army for 6 years during the Vietnam War. He retired from Lithonia Lighting after 32 years of service. Walker was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.He leaves behind to cherish his memories, daughter, Shirley Kent, step-son, Jimmy Shane Bates; grandchildren, Brittany Kent, Sandra Cosby, Willie Cosby, London Kent, and True Bates; great grandchildren, Nora Selly, and Moana Cosby; mother, Mary Scott; sisters, Terri, Laura and Reba; brothers, Larry and Johnny; former wife and friend, Sheila Smith; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral Services for Mr. Kent will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with Jonathan Rowe officiating.
