Samuel Clinton Pruett, of McDonough, passed away peacefully at Renaissance Genesis Healthcare in Griffin, on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was 96. Affectionately known as “Slim” Pruett. He was born in Suwanee, GA to the late Norton Nathaniel Pruett and Ida Lee (Bailey) Fowler. “Slim” was a machinist by trade and worked for almost every business in Atlanta. He did work for Delta Airlines, Stone Mountain Park, where he worked on the train, Swiss Premium and Foster’s Machine Shop. “Slim” later worked for Moulder-Harwell Machine Shop. Mr. Pruett was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Thelma (Camp) Pruett; son, Sammy Henley Pruett; daughter, Beatrice Ann Pruett; parents; and brothers, Hinton Pruett, Ezra Pruett, Carl Pruett, Lewis Wood and Earnest Wood. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend; and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rita and David Bussie, of McDonough; grandchildren, Patricia Ann Justice of Paulding County, Tony Joseph (Carol) Carr of Cedartown, and Christopher Michael (Shannon) Carr) of Newnan; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Pruett will be held in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Loren Regier officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
