Mrs. Boynton, Ruthie, Roustus, Rudy, Rootie Tootie, Ma, Maw-Maw, and above all Mama, as she was affectionately known by many names through her many special relationships had an unfailing strength and resilience – someone who always came through for everyone. Her zest for life and boundless energy lifted the spirits and energized all those around her. She loved the beach, was an excellent cook, and an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Boynton was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Edward Boynton; daughter, Glenda Marie Jackson; step-son, Hal Boynton Jr; father, John Jefferson Thompson; mother, Virginia Elizabeth Camp (Gibbs); sister, Marie Waldrop (Thompson); brothers, Carl Thompson, Mannon McKinley "Mack" Thompson. She is survived by her son, Tony Thompson (Ruth Forst); daughter, Hallie Mitchell (Dean Johnson); step-son, Richard Boynton (Vickie); son-in-law, Steve Jackson; brother, William "Bill" Thompson (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Dawn Jackson, Kristin Casey (Tim), Kacey Thompson, Steven Thompson, Austin Mitchell (Emily), Jena Mitchell, Shane Johnson (Emily); great-grandchildren, Hayden Jackson, David Fortt, Marie Fortt, Dylan Casey, Kylie Casey, Lily Kate Mitchell, Reece Mitchell, Richie Johnson, Oliver Johnson; great-great-grandchildren, Amarion Barnes, Zaylen Barnes; dog, Julio. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Keith Collins officiating.
