Ray Lester

Ray Lester, 75, of Newborn, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Piedmont Rockdale Medical Center. He was born in Stone Mountain, GA to Robert and Ida Elizabeth Harbin Lester. Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Gail Lester; his parents; his brothers, Charlie, Larry, Jerry; and sisters, Liz and Dot. He was a hardworking man but a simple man who loved his family very much. Ray was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, or Pops (some called him). He enjoyed raising game chickens and spending time at home. Ray will be dearly missed. His survivors include his children; Sarah Ann Bray, “Lamar” Lester (Pam), James Arnold “Arnie” Lester, Wendy Lee Moore, Billy Ray Lester, Regina Gail Henry (Shane); grandchildren, Stevie, Michael, Darren, Jennifer, Jonathan, T.R., Kayla, Cody, Keaton, Deisree, Dylan; numerous great grandchildren and many loving family members. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
