He was 57 years of age. Paul was born in Pico Rivera, CA to the late John and Rosemary Estes. He was preceded in death by his son, John David Estes; brothers, Sherman Estes and Scott Easley.Words from his wife;"What a lifelong love affair we had. We married so long ago and were so young. You was 21 and I, 18. It was love at first sight. Your smile was simply captivating. I realized right away that you had such a kind and generous heart. When you thought I or anyone else wanted something you always went above and beyond. You cared deeply with all your heart and blessed everyone you met. You never met a stranger and loved to tease and cut up constantly. We didn’t have much back then, but you were the hardest worker I’ve ever seen so we persevered and pressed ahead. We talked about how even if we didn’t have a lot to offer, how our kids would always be richly loved. We kept that promise when we brought 3 beautiful boys into this world of which 2 are still with me, along with our Grandbabies. They were always our pride and joy, our life, right up to the time that you went on home. Family was everything to him. You always fussed and preached at us all making sure we had everything we needed and behaved, too. You told me a few days ago that nobody has ever or will ever love me as much as you do. I really believe that was true. You also loved the Lord whole heartedly and really enriched that relationship toward the end. You told us with your last breaths how much you loved us and said promise me you will always follow the Lord. A lot of men die, but few ever live like you did. Now I can just see him hugging his mom and dad, playing with Little John and asking Sherman how he’s doing. I can hear Sherman say “I’m amazing!“ Paul you were my life, my love. You were pretty amazing to me. We’ll meet you there soon."Paul will be cherished by his loving wife of 36 years, Sherry Estes of Winterville; sons, Matt and Georgia Estes of Gainesville, Jonathan Estes and Dani Spruill of Winterville; grandchildren, Sailor Estes, Sawyer Estes, John Estes, Addison Estes, Logan Estes and Corbin Estes; siblings, Johnene and Floyd Shorter of Covington, Penny Estes of Blue Ridge, Joe Estes of OH, Susie and Kurtis Ziesman of Stuart, FL; special cousin Mike and Heather Estes of Cumming; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Higher Praise Tabernacle, 3915 GA-162, Covington, GA 30016 with Brother Donald Abernathy officiating.
