Joseph Edwin Starr 56, of Covington passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Francis Emory Healthcare. He was born in Atlanta, Ga to the late Travis Leon and Carolyn Virginia (Mote) Starr,. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patti Starr. Joseph was a lifelong member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed going fishing, camping and enjoyed working on his tractor in his free time. Joseph loved traveling to the mountains and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, dad, brother, uncle (bubba), and friend to many. Joseph was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all.Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 27 years Dwyn Ellen “Dee” Starr; his son, Joshua Starr of Covington, Ga; sister and brother-in-law, Sherri Rudasill (Howard) of Covington, Ga; nieces, Jana Rudasill, Jenni Rudasill, Vanessa Sears and Shellee Nix (Jason); great nieces, Makinley Rudasill, Audrey Campbell and Addyson Nix; and great nephews, Dylan and Hayden Sears and Joseph Sean Ledford; and many other loving family members.The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services and Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Gosh, I am soooo saddened about my friend and neighbor Joey. I will never forget you Joey. He was such a wonderful person. He had a loving and caring heart. The many times you rode to band practice and to the football games with us are all of happy and fun memories. I remember our last conversation, we reminiscence about the good old days of being in the band and our small community around the Richards Chapel Church area before all the growth. I know your mom (Mrs. Carol), your dad (Mr. Joe) and your sister (Patty) welcomed you into their heavenly arms. Joey, thanks for being my friend and a good neighbor. Dee, thanks for loving my friend Joey and being a GREAT wife to him. No doubt, Joey was a good father. Joey, I will miss you and will never forget you. I'll see you again when I get to heaven. Keep a light on for me Joey!
