Henry was born in New Albany, Indiana to the late Henry James Wolfe, Sr. and Frances Beckett Wolfe.He was a loving son, brother and great friend to so many. Henry went to Salem High School in Indiana. After graduation he attended Indiana State where he received his Bachelors of Music Degree. He then went on to Ball State and received his Master’s Degree in Education. Henry was the Band Director at Edwards Middle School in Conyers for many years.He enjoyed running, cycling, fly fishing, going to the mountains and listening to jazz music. Henry volunteered at Shepherd Spinal Clinic and received great joy in teaching the patients there how to fly fish. His memory will forever be cherished by those he left behind, brother Tim Wolfe (Nanette) of Fishers, IN, good friend Carol Compton, Bob and Shirley Riser, Joe Searle, Mike Popick, along with many other friends and co-workers.A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services at 11 am with Rev. Becky Baker officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd’s Spinal Clinic at www.shepherd.org or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Love watching the video of Henry’s life. It showed so many of the things he enjoyed doing throughout his life. He will be missed. Thank you, Henry, for your love of music and nature. You were a blessing to those whose lives you were a part of.
Mr. Wolfe saw something in me as one of his middle school band students that I couldn't see for myself. I wanted to quit band and music altogether. He wouldn't let me, and I am certainly glad he didn't. Music was so influential in all aspects of my life that it gave me the identity that I have today. So for that, Thank You, Mr. Wolfe. You truly did the Lord's work here on Earth with your students.
I’ve enjoyed & appreciate reading the comments shared about Henry. Henry was my cousin & being the only girl & the youngest, I remember getting teased by he and his brother, Tim, (& my brother Gary) a lot when we were kids! But he was always nice to me. When we were older, I enjoyed his dry sense of humor, his love of music and the outdoors. I also appreciated his intentionality of staying in touch with our family & often visiting my dad & stepmom. Although I never met his friend, Carol, I’m very grateful that God brought her into Henry’s life and and so grateful for the way she looked out for him, especially in his later years.

Henry always had a smile and even a joke to share when he passed through the front office at Edwards Middle School. I was blessed to have know such a kind man. He will be missed by many.
Henry, Mr. Wolfe, was our children's Middle School Band Director. We are thankful for the excellence he demanded that gave them a good work ethic and special opportunities. Two of our three children have advance degrees in music, play (or played) professionally, and the third is a fine engineer who loves music. I used to run and bike with Henry. We had some great conversations on those days, and I loved his dry sense of humor and ability to laugh at himself. He was a good person.
Mr. Wolfe was a valuable teacher for me in middle school band class. I learned a lot from him and was able to continue with the clarinet through high school and some even afterwards (I still have my instrument). I am thankful he was my teacher.
Mr. Wolfe was my band teacher at Edwards Middle School many many years ago. Somehow he was able to keep a bunch of sassy 6,7, and 8th graders under control and even make music in the process! Prayers for his family and friends during this time.
