Mrs. Helen Cooper Harris, age 85, of Covington, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family, after a short battle with cancer. Helen was born February 14, in Bolivar, Tennessee to the late Delton and Alice McCowan Cooper. Helen attended and graduated Russell High School in East Point, GA in 1949. She retired from Federal Aviation Administration after 30 years of a very successful career. She sold real estate in Orange Park, FL and Blairsville GA. for 10 Yearsand relocated to Covington GA in 2006. She was a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church. Helen enjoyed flowers, painting, and knitting. Her interest in knitting led her to organizing the Church Mouse Needlers at Mansfield UMC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her late husband Lawrence Eskew, Baby Boy Eskew, grandson Michael Hornsby, sister Hilda Holly, and brother Billy Cooper. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Frank Harris, her children and their spouses Paige and Roger Hornsby, Steve and Trudy Eskew, Scott and Terri Eskew, Michael F. Harris, grandchildren, Marnie Hornsby, Jessica Eskew, Christy Eskew, Kelly Eskew, Matthew Eskew, Brian Harris, Lindsey Johnson. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2pm at Mansfield United Methodist Church. With Pastor Todd Hilton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on line to the Cancer Research Institution Headquarters at One Exchange Plaza, 55 Broadway Suite 1802, New Your, NY 10006

She was an amazing lady and will be greatly missed. Heaven's gain is our loss. I will never forget her and look forward to seeing her again when I get home. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this painful time.
