Gladys Lucinda Tolbert Lundy

Mrs. Gladys Lucinda Tolbert Lundy, of Covington, passed away at the age of 92 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was born in Greensboro, Ga to the late Guy and Hattie O’Neal Tolbert. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Jeff Lundy, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Gladys was a faithful, loving, and very supportive, wife, mother, and granny. She worked hard in the cotton fields in her younger life, and cut grass as relaxation all her life. She was a great cook and taught her sons to be good cooks. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and made many of her own clothes, and occasional trips to the mountains.Gladys leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish. She was a member of Victorious Life Church of God and had a strong faith in her walk with the Lord.Gladys is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Don & Kathy Lundy of Eatonton, Ga., Larry D. & Donna Lundy of Delaware, OH., Darryl & Beverly Lundy of Conyers, Ga., and son Thomas D. Lundy of Covington Ga., 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many other loving family members.Services for Gladys will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1:00pm at Wheeler Funeral Home 11405 Brown Bridge Funeral Home Covington, GA with Pastor Matt Lundy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lawnwood Memorial Park Covington, GA. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Sunday August 13, 2017 at Wheeler Funeral Home.
