He was born on December 2, 1941 to the late Fred Raymond Fowler and Ruby Lee Horne of Atlanta, GA.Ron was predeceased by his wife of almost 20 years, Carol Frances Jones of Decatur, GA, his 2nd wife of 32 years, Mildred (Millie) Pierce of Eatonton, GA and stepson Chad Pierce of Albany, GA.He leaves behind his daughter Kimberly Michelle Fowler and stepson Walter Eugene Pierce IV; grandchildren, Hunter Burdette & Caitlin Thomas (Noah); great granddaughter, Montana Thomas; step grandchildren, Sealy Stuart (Matt), Seth Pierce & Austin Davis; sister, Charlotte Roberts (Jack); niece, Monica Lipscomb, great niece and nephews Savannah, Victor and William Smith and many friends.Ron graduated from Avondale High School, Decatur, GA in 1961. He went directly into the work force. He returned to Atlanta Tech later in life and obtained his aircraft & power plant license.He worked for Eastern Airlines as a ramp agent and retired after 20 years as Lead Ramp Manager. In 2003 Ron became an entrepreneur when he & 2 partners owned a master franchise of Pillar to Post Home Inspection Services of Georgia. They controlled over 45 individual franchises. Their offices were headquartered in Conyers, GA. He sold his interest and retired.Ron was a great mechanic, an avid hunter and sportsman. He was a knowledgeable gun enthusiast and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He traveled often as a young man and loved the beach, lakes, sea & woods. Mostly he was a good man, a family man who was always generous with his time & expertise.A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 2pm in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
