Doris Marie (Whitley) Wilson

Doris Marie (Whitley) Wilson passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at her home at the age of 90. She was born in Atlanta, GA to Benjamin Morris and Pearl (Bailey) Whitley. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was member of Gospel Missions Church over 30 years. Doris loved serving God and spending time with her family. Her hobbies included watching TV game shows and watching and listening to the Gaithers on television. She also enjoyed singing.Doris will be dearly missed by her family. Her survivors include her children Nancy Harper of Covington, Michael and Shirley Wilson of Covington, Deborah Spriggs of Covington, Phillip Wilson of Milledgeville, many grandchildren, many many great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie William Wilson, Sr., sons, Johnnie William Wilson, Jr., Markus Wilson, daughter, Janet Wilson, and parents Benjamin M and Pearl Whitley.Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 1 pm at Gospel Mission Church, 755 Almon Rd, Covington with Pastor Wayne Whitley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery Memorial, East Point, GA. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 am until service time.
