David Earl Bussie

Click Here To View The Live Stream Of This Service David Earl Bussie, of McDonough, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home at 70 years of age. He was born to Clarence Earl and Faye (Shepherd) Bussie of Goodwater, AL. David was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Gayle Young, and Kim Jordan. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the Air Craft Carrier USS Forrestal CVA-59, was a Viet Nam Veteran, and retired with the City of Atlanta. David had been married since 1985. His hobbies included fishing, and old cars. He was a Civil War buff and a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans of Henry County. His love was for the Navy and reading, especially military books. David is survived by his loving wife, Rita Fay Bussie of McDonough; son, Chris Bussie; siblings and their spouses, Bobby and Robin Bussie of Goodwater, AL, Micky Bussie of Goodwater, AL, Don and Connie Bussie of Alex City, AL, Carol McNeal of Acworth, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Services, 11405 Brown Bridge Rd, Covington (770) 786-7111, with Rev. Thomas Satterfield officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. Please understand we will be following the State’s COVID guidelines. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please bring and wear a mask while in the building, and are encouraged to practice social distancing. Those who are unable to attend we understand, and appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
