Claude Lyman Oldham of Covington passed away Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 92 years of age. Claude was born to Bliss Eugene and Lena (Watts) Oldham in Calera, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Noah Parish, son-in-law Steve Slayton, and six siblings.Claude was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to many. He was a member of the Stone Mountain Baptist Builders Association and taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. Claude worked for AT&T for 38 years and Georgia Tech for 7 years.He enjoyed being a ham amateur radio operator and playing the piano. Claude was active with the Newton County Band Association, could build anything, loved working on his computer, and playing with his cats. He especially loved going to his daughters’ school activities, but most of all he loved his family and all the togetherness they shared.His survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Sue Oldham; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia Maddux (Tracy), Pam Johnson (Tommy), Belinda Parish (Jeff), Melissa Alcide (Steve); grandchildren Joshua, Jeremiah, Natalie, Thomas, Maggie, Dylan and Isabella; great grandchildren Cole, Madalyn, Kassidy, Ella, Kaden, Reese, Noah T. and Adalida.Services will be held at Zion Baptist Church in the near future.
