Charles Henry Bishop

Charles Henry Bishop Sr. 75, of Monticello, passed away at Navicent Hospital in Milledgeville on Friday, May 15, 2020. Charles was born in Dallas, Texas to the late Gordon and Dorothy Bishop. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson’s Charles H. Bishop III, Clay Adam Bishop Jr. and his sister Juanita Faircloth. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years Pat Bishop, his children and their spouses Tina & David Dove, Chuck Jr. & Shelly Bishop, Clinton & Angela Bishop, Clay & Rachel Bishop, his grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Kenny, Christopher, Tara, Taylor, Jacob, Adam, Mitchell, and Summer, 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way, sisters Joyce Briggs, Joann Faircloth, Betty & Gary Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Charles was a loving man, so kind and gentle with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather that was tough, and hard working to provide for his family. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trips to the mountains, and antiquing, but his love was his horses, he was just a big old cowboy at heart. Charles proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He will be greatly missed by all. Due to the COVID 19 virus a memorial service will be held at a later date.
