Lloyd (Perry) Allen, 69, returned to his heavenly home on May 21st after a valiant battle against cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.Perry was blessed with a large, loving family. He married his best friend Sylvia Lott on March 5, 1985. Perry helped raise their blended family as one with patience, discipline and humility, teaching them faith, honesty and the importance of family and friends. He enjoyed taking his family on long trips to see the natural beauty of the north Georgia mountains and the Gulf Coast. Perry dedicated his life to God and encouraged others to explore the beauty of the Gospels and could often be heard spreading the Word of God from across the street, across the country and across the world. During his tenure with many ministries, he visited Russia and Bulgaria as a missionary to preach and serve. Closer to home, he championed the Truck Stop Ministry and frequently visited local correctional facilities, strongly believing that everyone deserves a second chance.Perry was an educator at heart and he always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. Let's not forget that he was also a prankster with an amazing sense of humor, whose smile was as big as his heart. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator.Perry is survived by the love of his life, Sylvia Allen; his sons Perry Allen(Valerie ) and Keith Lott; his daughters Angela Bogle(Scott), Jennifer Mayo (Steve); Karen Belcher (Richard) and Wanda Ralston (Ryan). Perry was the proud grandparent of eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held August 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Gaithers United Methodist Church with Rev. Lawrence Lockett and Rev. Henry Wade officiating. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations; prayers, condolences and memories, however, are gladly accepted.
